Writer and Performer
…is an actress, mover, clown, poet, yoga instructor, playwright, teacher, student and lover of life. Most recently her poem So Wide won first place in a spoken word contest and can be can be found published online in Wax Art and Poetry Magazine. Her poems What I would do if you asked, Inside Out and Death Rotates can be found published in the Cafe Beano Anthology. Some of her playwriting credits include: The Carrying (winner of the Walterdale Cradle to Stage and Ottawa Little theatre award), Parched, Lucky and F%$ked! (1st place ATP’s 24hr playwriting competition), Wilma May and Her Tight White Socks (Soul-o-centric Festival 2012), The Dangers of Being (Sage Theatre Ignite! Festival), Voy.er.ee (Buck Assembled Artists), and Caffeine Ladies (Arachne Theatre). Her credits as a performer and creator include No Exit (Theatre BSMT), The Bones ( Foda: A Culinary Cabaret) i-Robot Theatre (Swallow-a-Bicycle) Love is an Improvisation ( HeArtvark), The Bon-bon dolls and The Sirens (Site Specific Spectacular, High Performance Rodeo), Do Me (Downstage Performance Theatre Motel series), Bad Grad: A Celebration of Really Bad Poetry (High Performance Rodeo2006) Interrarium project (High Performance Rodeo 2006) and most notably in Featherland (One Yellow Rabbit 2005) at the Belfry Theatre.
Andrea Shanks-Sunderland:
Stage Manager and Lighting designer Andrea Shanks-Sunderland first met Jennifer Roberts and Miss Wilma May on a hot summer day nearly a decade ago. This summer will mark the third time that Andrea has had the honor of being invited to assist in bringing this wonderful creation to life. And she couldn't be more pleased! Born and raised in Calgary, Andrea graduated from the Theatre Arts - Technical program at Mount Royal University, and now lives in Red Deer with her husband and nearly three children. In addition to previous productions of Wilma May and her Tight White Socks, select design credits include; The Fall of the House of Usher, Theatre Mystic; American Woman, Phame Productions; Man out of Joint, Downstage Productions; To Kill a Mocking Bird, Workshop Theatre; Mr Fix it and This Could Be Love, Lunchbox Theatre. |
